Saturday 5/8/10

Saturday here in China was a steamy one. Thank God for AC in the hotel. This morning after a wonderful breakfast at the top of the hotel where there is a revolving restaurant, we headed off for Abigail's medical exam and TB skin test. She did really well and got a good report on her check-up. We go back on Monday to have her TB test read and if it is negative, she will be ready for her consulate appointment and US visa application on Monday or Tuesday. After her appointment we went to the grocery store and stocked up on some essentials (like water).

Believe it or not, we found a Papa John's Pizza place by the grocery store and brought pizza home for lunch. We'll probably get burned out on pizza and KFC and will be ready to eat Chinese again when we get home! This afternoon we rested some and went swimming in the pool and then checked out the area around the hotel a little. Tomorrow nothing is scheduled except some shopping in the morning and paperwork in the afternoon. Not much else to report on today.

I was able to go through some of our pictures and prepared a slide show if you are interested showing our travel to Beijing. I'll get more pics of our other sightseeing trips up for you to see soon.

Some specific things you could pray for us would be: strength and unity as a family (everyone is tired and wants to go home, attitudes of all of us could have been better today), wisdom in dealing with behavior issues with Abigail as she tests the waters and becomes frustrated with us when she can't understand us.
